On our recent trip to San Diego, particularly in within the Gas Lamp area, we were craving for some ramen for dinner. After searching in google maps, we came across this ramen shop in East Village named Tajima Ramen. We also saw good reviews for this ramen restaurant as well as read that it has a reputation as one of the top Japanese restaurants in San Diego, so we gave it a try.
When we arrived, there was a long queue, which was a good indication that food
is good here. The restaurant is not that big and there is no parking
facility so you just park on the streets. We are very hungry because of
the long waiting lines so we are excited to try out their food. This is
what we ordered:
Tofu Tempura |
Tajima Chicken Chashu Bun |
Chicken Chashu Fried Rice |
Tajima Ramen 23 - Original Tonkotsu Pork Bone Broth |
Tajima Black Ramen - Tonkotsu Pork Bone Broth with Black Garlic Oil |
As expected the ramen was very good. The broth was rich, flavorful and
the noodles are perfect. One thing good about their ramen here is that
the pork chashu is very thick about 3/4 to 1 inch. The appetizers and
chicken chashu fried rice that we ordered are very good as well.
Overall, we enjoyed our food and we cannot wait to dine here again.
