Rediscovering Davao City

I've been to Davao City a couple of times but it was always work-related and I've never had a chance to visit most of the tourist spots the city has to offer.  This time we travel to visit those tourist spots. So, let's get started.

We wanted this tour to be worry-free so I acquired the services of Shore2Shore Travel Services.  They have a wide range of tour packages both local and international.  If you want a no-hassle and worry-free tour, just inquire with them - click here for there website.  Contact Ms. Terry.  She was very accommodating and she will assist you all throughout the tour.

Moving on, our first stop is on Apo Ni Lola.  It is a pasalubong center located at San Miguel Village, Matina Davao City. The pasalubong center caters wide variety of sweets made of durian and mangosteen.

Next, we head for the Japanese Tunnel located by the end of the diversion road towards McArthur Highway in Matina area.  It was said that the tunnel was used by Japanese Soldiers during WW2. Entrance fee to the tunnel is Php50.00.

You have to register in their office before entering the tunnel

Moving on, we headed to Eden Nature Park & Resort in Toril Davao City about an hours drive from the city proper.  The park is a 80-hectare nature park owned by Jesus V. Ayala.

Aside from the nature park, Eden also have Sky Cycle and Sky Rider as part of their recreational facilities.  For thrill seekers these rides are well recommended.

Next stop is the Philippine Eagle Center located in Malagos, Baguio District, Davao City, which is about an hour's drive from Eden Nature Park. The sanctuary is home to the famous Philippine Eagle which of one of the largest species of eagles in the world.  The eagle is endangered so they hold this sanctuary to protect them.

By this time it's already late in the afternoon.  We can only afford two more stops.  So for our next stop, we went to the Davao Crocodile Park located at Riverfront Corporate City, Diversion Highway, Ma-a, Davao City.

They also sell crocodile meat.  I wanted to buy some but I have 2 more days here in davao and I have no where to store the meat.

Last stop, we capped off the day with dinner at Taklobo Restaurant in Jack's Ridge.

It was a jammed pack day maximizing all those destinations.  But it was very fulfilling and enjoyable. There are more destinations that Davao City has to offer and I'm definitely coming back soon.
