When in Taiwan, you always want to try their specialty food. And there's always one that comes to mind, Xiao Long Bao or Soup Dumplings. Din Tai Fung is the perfect restaurant to try out these soup dumplings. The restaurant is a world-renowned Chinese restaurant originating in Taiwan that specializes in soup dumplings and noodles. Since we are in the Taipei 101, we visited their branch here
Din Tai Fung's claim to fame is that they have perfected the art of making Xiao Long Bao so we will not miss ordering that. But aside from the soup dumplings, they also have notable items on their menu.
Here is what we ordered:
Crab Roe & Pork Xiao Long Bao |
Truffle & Pork Xiao Long Bao |
Golden (Salted Egg Yolk) Lava Buns |
Din Tai Fung House Special - Pickled Jellyfish |
Sweet & Sour Pork Ribs |
They also provide a literature showing the correct way to eat the Xiao Long
Bao:
Food here is really great. I love the fact their dumplings are freshly
made. No wonder they have expanded to most major cities around the
world. Aside from the delicious soup dumplings, what I really loved are
their golden lava buns. It was really a treat and I couldn't get enough
of it. We even ordered more to go. The only downside dining here
is that there is a very long queue specially on weekends. We have to
wait for 1 hr and 30 mins before we can get seated.
