When in Coron, and you are looking for traditional Filipino food, Head out to Lolo Nonoy's Food Station. It is one of the most sought to restaurants in Coron, famous for both locals and tourists alike. Just located in the town proper of Coron, just ask locals for directions and you can easily get there.
The restaurant has pre-cooked meals where you can order at the counter. A good option if you are in a hurry and want to have your food right away. Then, you can also opt to choose from their menu for short orders but may take a few minutes to be cooked and served. Here's their menu:
We ordered a combination of the pre-cooked meals and the short orders. Here is what we ordered:
Pork BBQ (from the counter) |
Calamares |
Pork Menudo (from the counter) |
Lumpiang Shanghai |
Sinigang Na Blue Marlin |
Pancit Palabok |
Lemon Iced Tea |
Orders were served around 15-20 minutes, which was just okay. But during, peak times, they say that orders are served around 30-60 minutes depending on the number of customers.
Food is good but with it's quality, for me, the price is a bit high than it should be. For foreigners wanting to try Filipino food, it still is a good place to dine.
