Puerto Princesa Side Trip

After our Sabang adventure, we have a few more hours to spare, so we decided to kill the time by side tripping Puerto Princesa. Good thing a family friend offered us a private tour within the city. Our first stop:

MITRA RANCH

Also known as Sta. Monica Ranch, the Mitra Ranch is one of the famous tourist destinations here in Puerto Princesa. With no entrance fees collected, many tourists take the privelage to visit one of the ancestral house owned by the well known politician Ramon V. Mitra.

Inside the house you will notice the nice wood interiors and antique displays.

Downhill, there is a zip line open to all thrill seeking visitors.

Next stop, we headed for:

BAKER'S HILL

Just a couple of minutes from Mitra Ranch, Baker's Hill is a pasalubong center, restaurant, park, and mini zoo situated in one place. It is also one of the famous destinations in Puerto Princesa City.

Next:

Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center (PWRCC)

Formerly known as the Crocodile Farming Institute, the PWRCC features a crocodile farm, a veterinary care facility specializing in sick and injured crocodiles, and a mini-zoo that features various species from Palawan. The center operates from 8.30-11.30am & 1.30-4.30pm Mon-Sat and with an admission fee of P40.00. During peak days, all visitors are organized for a guided tour within the facility.

Here lies the skeleton of one of the largest crocodiles that was nestled here reaching lengths up to 17 feet.

The Souvenir Shops

Lastly, before catching our flight back to Manila, we stopped by:

LRC 908 Market Mall

This is where we bought our pasalubongs, (accessories, souvenirs, delicacies, and apparel).

Unfortunately, we have a flight to catch so this side trip is at an end. But as I contemplate, Palawan is really a nice place. Our Sabang adventure and Puerto Princesa side trip is just the begining... We will definitely go back to discover more of Palawan...
