Pier 7 - Marina Dubai

After the Marina Dinner Cruise, we strolled along the Marina walkway and stumbled upon Pier 7.   Pier 7 is apparently a series of restaurants/bars perfect for grabbing a bottle or 2 of beers overlooking the Marina.  Working in Saudi for quite a while really made me craved for beer so we decided to cap the night off trying out one of the bars in Pier 7.

There are 7 restaurant/bars in Pier 7 namely, Atelier M, Asia Asia, Abd El Wahab, The Scene by Simon Rimmer, Cargo, O Cacti, and Fume.  And as they say, as you go on a higher floor, the prices also go higher.  I'd like to drink as many as I can so we decided to go to Cargo which is on the third floor.

It's a Thursday night so it's a little bit packed.  They say there'd be more people on Fridays and Saturdays.  I believe that this place is a restaurant during the day and turns more of a bar during the night.  We easily became comfortable right away since most of the bar tenders and waiters are Filipinos.  Since we were stuffed from our dinner cruise, we really just came for the beer.

The cost for a glass of beer is at AED33.  Yeah, I know it's a bit much but this is the middle east and these type of beverages are really costly here.  In fairness, the glass is huge, and the beer was really good.

If you are in the Marina area in Dubai, try to visit Pier 7 and choose from the seven restaurant they have.  It's also a good place to have social drinks with friends and meet new people.  If you go there try their Happy Hour from 5-8 pm daily.

My Rating:
Food/Taste:  8/10 (since we only got beer I'll rate that;  It's not Red Horse but still very good)
Ambiance:  8/10 (chill vibe with great music)
Cleanliness:  8/10 (establishment is fairly clean)
Service: 8/10 (very good service, kudos to the kababayans working there)
Establishment:  9/10 (very good location in the Marina)
Price:  6/10 (with respect to beer price, I feel it's expensive)
Overall:  7.83/10 (good for groups to share tabs)

  2. Pier 7 sounds like a cool place to grab drinks after a Dubai Marina dinner cruise . Would love to hear more about the atmosphere on the cruise itself - romantic, lively, etc.
